First Aid for Mental Health
Mental Health First Aid is a variety of courses designed to teach people at work, teachers, youth workers, those working with children or young adolescence how to help or identify someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.
Various courses are available. The basic courses is applicable to everyone - then there is further training for those in more specific roles as described above.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Course
1 Day Youth Mental Health First Aid Courses are for anyone who works, lives or supports
young people aged 8-18 – such as school staff and youth workers.
Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health
This awareness course is suitable for everyone as it provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a suspected mental
health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.
Level 2 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health
This course is suitable for everyone but has been designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace and to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected.
Level 3 First Aid for Mental Health Training
The course is suitable for all persons within a workplace but is aimed at those who hold a supervisory/managerial level position and who have responsibility for implementing a positive mental health culture and responsibility for First Aid for Mental Health within an organisation.
